My first (and probably last) baking project of the 2016 Christmas season is complete.
11:29 AM: I've just wrapped up the last thing on my to-do list, my out-of-office email autoresponder goes live in one minute, and I might get home before the rain starts. Let the holiday weekend begin!

@matigo Putin speaks fluent German because he was a KGB officer stationed in East Germany. Likewise, Angela Merkel speaks fluent Russian because she grew up in the GDR.
Also, Abe would more correctly say, "Ich heiße Shinzo Abe…" :-P
@phoneboy I have reasonable seniority and plenty of time on the books, but if I took any time off this week or next, a dozen or more projects would miss their fielding and/or publication dates. I don't want to be That Guy, so here I am. Then again, I'm the only one in the company who does exactly what I do, and I knew the job was dangerous when I took it. :-)
@phoneboy The best part is that the project lead and main players are all out of the office already for the holidays, and they've got the next tier down (read: poor bastards who don't have the seniority or the vacation time to also be out) trying to make it work.
Currently watching a project team that is basically trying to fit ten pounds of crap in a five-pound bag, and that never gets old. :-)
