There are cheaper phones, but I'm not about to step into the minefield of iPhone vs. Android. :-)

As for cheaper iPhones, I strongly suspect that people with budget issues will be financing through their carrier or doing the iPhone Purchase Program (most likely the former). That brings your monthly cost down to a few dollars' difference between the low and high ends (since even the cheapest ain't cheap), and a lot of them will opt for the most they think they can afford. Again, other people's financial choices are a minefield I'm not going to step into, since I'm not in their shoes.

All I'm saying is that it's wrong to discount people's concerns in this regard. Whether the Verge (which I mostly only use for their liveblog when something new is introduced) is on an anti-Apple crusade, I can't say.

This is in response to a Twitter post, because I needed more than 140 characters.

This is one of those subjects that people feel strongly about on both sides. For me:

  • I have never had a good experience with Bluetooth headphones;

  • An extra expense is an extra expense;

  • I'm one of those people who charges and uses headphones at the same time, practically every day;

  • I'm very glad my 6S will be good for the foreseeable future

I also think a lot of tech geeks are people with disposable income, and they can't relate to people who have budgetary concerns. A person might stretch to make their monthly payment on an iPhone, but not be able to find the cash for extras. This is what the article1 describes, and since I do know people in that situation, I'm not prepared to discount it as a bad article.

Realistically, unless there's at least a usable mobile web version, I'm probably not going to be there much.

Not going near an airport (unless you're and get to drive) = winning. ?

Mercy!

Is that a 5.25" floppy drive I see?

I can't handle more than a couple at a time.
