@hazardwarning When I was in Berlin in 1981, I remember being surprised when I tuned in to Radio Berlin International (Voice of the German Democratic Republic!) on my pocket transistor radio (medium-wave) and hearing an announcer with an Irish accent. Apparently they had quite the motley crew of international defectors on staff.
