@indigo It's probably the 2ème étage. I would imagine they see more Britons than Americans, but I could be wrong. We do seem to be everywhere.

@indigo :-) A reminder that translation is as much an art as it is a science, if not more so, and that sometimes the most direct translation is not the most correct.

@indigo I am reminded of the old, old story about the English politician who was giving a speech in France. Wanting to tell the audience that there had been two distinct phases in his political past, he spoke as follows:
"Quand je regarde mon derrière, il est divisé en deux parties."

Just received confirmation that my wife's cousin and her husband are getting ready to evacuate. Relieved.
@matigo They're on the western edge of the evacuation area (literally--their street is the boundary) so we're hoping they're OK.
@sumudu Thanks. It's a particularly fast-moving and deadly fire, much like the one that burned through our area last December.
Looks like one of my wife's cousins is in the area affected by the fires around Redding. Shit.
@sumudu From what I can see, Micro.blog is mostly full of tech-oriented (which is a nice way of saying geeky as hell) Apple users and has no desire to stray from that niche. There's nothing wrong with being there, but there's nothing that draws me in, either.
