@joanna Doing OK. The winds came back today, but this area is no longer in danger and it blew the smoke we've been breathing for days out into the Pacific, which was a blessed relief. One does get tired of wearing an N95 mask all the time.
@indigo I think central heating dries out the air too much for them. They prefer a more humid environment.
@indigo One of the nicknames for Ventura is "The Poinsettia City." They used to be an important crop here 100 years ago. As you can see, they do grow nicely around here. That plant had no leaves left whatsoever a few months ago after we had a windstorm, but it made a miraculous recovery.
