While I'm glad Google issued the refund, the correct way to handle it would have been to immediately say it would be refunded once the rep saw that I'd paid for expedited shipping and didn't get it.

If they don't make things right with the shipping cost, it won't necessarily make me buy from Verizon next time, but I sure as hell won't be paying for expedited shipping again, either.
Google Store support has to consult with the shipping folks, for some reason. Don't want to wait on the phone another 30 minutes so I'm waiting for an email. I'm not optimistic they'll do the right thing.
On the phone with Google Store support to see if they'll refund the expedited shipping fee for my Pixel, since they shipped it FedEx Ground. Let's see what happens.
