@indigo Most everything I wear regularly is cotton. There's just not that much need for wool in a Mediterranean climate zone.

@feorlen I generally loathe synthetic fabrics. I mostly prefer cotton and wool for most things, and leather for shoes, belts and the like.

@feorlen I've always wondered why they're so popular in the Pacific Northwest for exactly that reason. Fortunately, I'm blessed/cursed to live in a dry climate.

@indigo The regular leather ones would probably do fine (such as the London model), but rain isn't really a major concern in southern California, for better or for worse.
@indigo They'll need to be waterproofed first. Birks in general don't like to get wet, and nubuck needs special care.
@skematica They're not cheap, but Birks tend to last a long time. They do take some breaking in, though…
