"I'm not talkin' 'bout movin' in, and I don't want to change your life, but there's a warm wind blowin' the stars around, and I'd really love to see you tonight…"

Always thought that was an odd line. Kind of like, "I don't really care about you that much, but I want to see you…"

Don't worry about it. This is a safe place.

@kdfrawg Which is why I never break out the England Dan and John Ford Coley first thing in the morning. ;-) #childofthe70s

On a really good day I get 5 Mbps with ADSL, which is still my current connection at home.

My uncle spent 40 years with United, and I'm very familiar with non-rev dress codes from having been a beneficiary of non-rev travel on both United and American (a friend's dad used to run American's LAX ground facilities). It basically boils down to "business dress." For kids, there's some leeway depending on the age of the child, as there should be, and the gate agent here totally blew it. And then their social media team blew it again.

Relatedly, my observation has been that non-rev passengers are usually dressed better than the paying passengers around them in first class and business due to the dress code.

UT is Texas' top state school. I suspect you'll find similar results at UPenn, UCLA, Berkeley, UMass, etc. People are people.

That's about my take on it. There's a reason why my alma mater's initials are said to stand for University of Casual Sex and Beer. Take young people with surging hormones, add alcohol and remove adult supervision, and you get all kinds of bad behavior that can result.

Hook'em, horns! ?

This is all very interesting, but I'd be curious to know what someone we all know, who attended and graduated from UT Austin and still works there, thinks of this whole thing. (Not going to tag her into this discussion so she doesn't feel obligated to respond.)

For what it's worth, you're thinking correctly.
