Not that many idiots in Chevys. A number of idiots in Jaguars and Porsches, however.

Honestly, it's the best part of the weekend. Seeing all that magnificent steel being used in the real world, at close range.

I've seen one in the flesh in Monterey during the Historics weekend, but then there are a lot of certifiably insane people driving massively valuable cars around during that time. I once parked next to an honest-to-God Bugatti Type 57 in the parking lot of a coffee shop in Monterey. If you ever go to Monterey for that, better make sure your insurance is up to the task because it's possible to have a million-dollar accident.

@kdfrawg Here's what you need: an Aston Martin DB5 shooting brake conversion done by the legendary Harold Radford.

I do not envy you one bit.

That's astonishing.

This is the next cool place. :-)

Slow morning/afternoon/evening around hereā€¦

I've just rejoined Facebook for a couple of very specific purposes. It's unlikely around here given the membership, but if there's any of you who want to be in touch with me over there, you can find me at facebook.com/lawrence.e.anderson.1

  1. Don't expect much; it's very likely I'll get disgusted with it and quit again. :-)

No. We should, but we don't. They built one in Santa Barbara during the previous drought, but decommissioned it when that drought ended, which is stupid.
