@kdfrawg The one change I'm thinking of for the Jetta is the addition of sheepskins. It came with "V-Tex" seat upholstery (similar to MB Tex) which is just a bit too sticky in the summertime.

@kdfrawg I would have bought a Civic last time, except my wife already had one and I hated the bi-level instrument cluster of that generation. The new ones have solved that by getting a normal instrument panel.
Oh, and I got a screaming deal on my Jetta that was too good to turn down. $3K below blue book value.
