33 years ago today, at the ripe old age of 17, I started my first job, at McDonald's.

Something for the pilots and aircraft enthusiasts here--the entire current Airbus range, flying in formation.

Hi everyone…been busy at work, but slowing down. We're up against a hard deadline this week for getting invoices submitted for payment in 2016, so there's that, plus the usual end-of-the-year rush to get projects done before Dec. 31 so revenue can be recognized this year. And then there's the unexpected job offer that I'm still not sure I want to take. On the positive side, there are two departments that want me to work for them, so there are worse positions to be in.

And still, it's only Wednesday. <sigh>

@kdfrawg His orderly mind is on full display in this book, which I'm just getting back to. It's a very methodical and clear translation and amplification of a classic work of Shafi'i fiqh. It's fascinating.

@kdfrawg The friend in question was our old friend Musa (who has recently relocated to Kuala Lumpur, by the way).

That feeling when you’re listening to an interview with a scholar noted in his field, and he mentions having studied with a friend of yours.

There is nothing better on a cold day than green chile stew and a good bottle of beer. :-)

Another busy work day. Cold outside (well, for California, anyway). I could really go for a bowl of New Mexico-style green chile stew right now.

What a day. No social media time at all. Got a lot done, though…

@kdfrawg The flip side of getting a reputation for handling whatever is thrown your way is that you end up having a lot of things thrown your way.
