That's horrendous. California has its problems, but our election procedures are impeccable, and we've never required federal intervention to ensure a fair election. That's largely a legacy of the Progressive Era in the early 20th century, as well as legislation in the 1960s and 1970s.

Anyway, we get the following:

  • Full text of the proposition
  • Nonpartisan analysis by the Legislative Analyst
  • Argument for
  • Rebuttal to argument for
  • Argument against
  • Rebuttal to argument against
  • Political party statements of purpose
  • Candidate statements

I can't imagine not getting all that and still making an informed decision.

I've never lived in Georgia, but somehow I'm not surprised. I suspect the people running the state have a vested interest in making sure that certain segments of the population don't vote.

@kdfrawg I have a huge Technics component system and speakers, for which I really don't have anyplace in the house. I'm inclined to get rid of it, but my wife thinks otherwise. Meanwhile, it's taking up space in storage.

//

@kdfrawg The dirty little secret of this election is that we have a Rockefeller Republican in the race, and she's going to win.

@kdfrawg Not sure why I still have it, actually. It's been almost 20 years since I had a turntable hooked up.

//

@kdfrawg It's going to take a while. The Republican civil war is going to be a long one, I think. I'll bring the popcorn.

@kdfrawg Pretty sure I have Autobahn around here somewhere on LP.

//

@kdfrawg They would have been, except this year, because sod the bloody GOP. It's payback time.

@kdfrawg This year it took me a couple of afternoons.
