My wife finally hit 0 bytes of available storage on her iPhone 5c, so I'm looking at data plans on Verizon and AT&T before getting her a new phone. Never thought I'd go back to Verizon, but just might make better financial sense to keep my wife on Verizon and port my number back there too. And my iPhone works on both networks (thank you, Apple), so I can bring it over and not get locked into a contract.
Hmmm…

@kdfrawg I personally prefer the hyphenated versions of both, as the "e" clearly modifies the noun, but our corporate style guide at work calls for "email."

@kdfrawg The trick with editing is to be strict enough that it doesn't sound completely uneducated, but not so strict and formal that it sounds stilted. One writes differently for a popular magazine than for an academic paper.

@kdfrawg I can be a zealot when it comes to spelling and grammar, but it's worth remembering that English is, at its root, the bastard child of German and French. It's also worth remembering that language evolves to meet the needs and usage of the people. Case in point: French, no matter how formal and correct, began as the slang of the legions in Gaul.

@kdfrawg As someone who corrects the grammar of others for a living, I choose my battles. :-)
// @JeremyCherfas
@JeremyCherfas That would be far better, and is how I would have written it, but I'm not convinced that it's strictly incorrect as written, at least with respect to vernacular American usage.
@kdfrawg There's a reason why the vast majority of my news these days comes from overseas.
