Google Chrome just randomly translated a page into German. Which is cool, since I can understand German more or less, but also kind of weird.

Cool! This is the first computer I ever used, the TRS-80 Model 1 [en.wikipedia.org]:

trs-80

Beige boxes. CRTs. "Turbo" buttons. Dial-up modems that actually used the phone receiver. The kids today have no idea. :-)

The funny part is that my teacher at the time was someone who plays in the backup band for John on tour sometimes, and we'd just finished getting everything perfectly dialed in the day before. Then John looked at it and said, "Your bridge is in the wrong place," and moved it. Phil (my teacher) just rolled his eyes when I saw him next, and promised to give him crap about it. :-)

Started happening to me around 35. Aging is better than the alternative. :-)

I'm reasonably happy with 52, somewhat less so with 2018, which is awkward since my birthday is at the beginning of January. :-)

You can never have too many banjos.

True story: John McEuen (from the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band) once completely screwed up the tuning on my five-string by moving the bridge.

I'm 52, Konrad. How old are you?

I learned basic HTML in the 1990s when it was necessary to hand-code my Angelfire web page. It may not be pretty, but it works. Markdown seems to be hit or miss depending on the implementation.

This is why I prefer HTML tags. Markdown just frustrates the crap out of me sometimes.
