How I know it's Monday: my computer is stuck on this.
@JeremyCherfas I'm hoping that eventually we'll be able to click the timestamp and be taken to the post's unique URL.
(Yes, this is a suggestion.)
// @matigo
@matigo No accidents, just a very unpleasant sound. Modern cars are over-braked to prevent disasters from simple things like this.
// @phoneboy
@matigo Besides, it's an ex-rental with almost 113,000 km on it. They said the rear brakes looked original, so I'm not surprised. Fronts were probably replaced already, since they take more of the load.
// @phoneboy
@matigo Yep. Old pads didn't give much warning when they wore down, and the right rear got grooved.
// @phoneboy
@phoneboy Came out to $413.56 for both rear brakes (pads and rotors) plus a full synthetic oil change. Not too bad.
Grinding noise from rear brakes yesterday means I'm down at Pep Boys [pepboys.com] this morning waiting for the bad news from the mechanic.
