@JeremyCherfas Without looking it up, it was probably either Nixon in '72 or Reagan in '84.

@lograh Not when our crack IT team obliterates everything doing a re-image. :-\

@hybotics I think Wyoming would be a good idea. It would be good to have family close, and Wyoming is just flat-out beautiful. And much less expensive.
@matigo There's no way for that to happen within the bounds of constitutional law. The U.S. armed forces are subject to civilian control.
But then, that's the thing. We're in period of constitutional crisis for which there is no real precedent.
@jws The simplest solution is what I've done--use Office's native spelling correction feature. No IT approval needed, works well, just requires a lot of tedious reprogramming every few years.

@jmreekes Interesting. In any case, my work laptop is locked down by IT, and it's difficult to get anything non-standard installed.

There's a colony of bees that's taken up temporary residence in a tree in the office parking lot. Glad I parked on the other side of the building this morning.
The biggest pain in the butt for me when upgrading my work computer is always the same thing: reconstructing my extensive list of keyboard shortcuts in Office that use the auto-correct feature. It's essential for editing and commenting on documents.
