Photo orientation is sometimes maddening.

Seeing my Canadian friends complaining about being woken up at 0-Dark-Thirty this morning for an Amber Alert, and grateful that down here in 'Murica we get to shut them off.

It's standard operating procedure over there. I'm not the first, and I won't be the last.

Background:
To make a long story short, there was a forum thread dedicated to deals and bargains on watch sales. There was a kerfuffle over someone using Amazon associate links, then someone said something a mod didn't like, and he froze the thread and deleted every post that didn't "respect his authoritah!"

Meanwhile, one of the regulars got tired of all the kindergarten bullshit and started his own damn forum [manontime.com], where all the activity in the thread migrated. When people started asking about it, anyone who replied with info on where to find it had their post deleted. I think I got caught up in that, although I never directly pointed anyone to a specific URL.

The mod in question is a retired sergeant, and that kind of tells you everything you need to know.

It appears that a moderator on one of the watch forums I frequent took exception to something I posted. I have no idea what, except that I received a bunch of "likes" for something I posted a few months ago that has been removed and of which I have no memory, and my ability to PM other users has been revoked.

The World Wide Web: A place for grudges, offense, and petty bullshit since 1991. 🙄

The appearance of spam in my contact inbox is leading me to believe that we're going to need some sort of captcha, unfortunately.

More a case of I always manage to screw up something when using Markdown. :-/

Two things:

  1. I thought the v4 solution for footnotes worked well.

  2. When you're ready to let the rest of us in, I've got an OPML file ready to import into a 10C-based RSS reader.

I bet if you told your sister that you were ready to move out there, she could make it happen more quickly, and you wouldn't have to have that interim move to a private house. Would save you some money and hassle, too. Can't hurt to try, anyway.

But if you close the window and come back, it'll show as UTC+10 again.

Is jeremywsherman.com still in use? Feedly says its RSS feed is unreachable.
