Welcome to American capitalism.

Just watched my former boss, whom I was promoted over, leave the building after a post-layoff exit interview. The world is a strange place.

Holy crap: plane crash north of Ventura, possible midair collision. Debris falling on 101 and PCH. Image

Diolch! I'm pleased. :-)

I figure if the worst happens, I'm only out sixty-five bucks. And if it proves durable, it's a hell of a deal. Very little to lose.

The Amphibia has a stainless steel case and an acrylic crystal that's 3mm thick, but the nice thing about acrylic is you can polish out the scratches with Brasso or even toothpaste. In any event, I'll never be in a position to afford a Rolex or a Patek Philippe, so I'm happy to play around with the proletarian Russian stuff. :-)

If you don't get at least one meal at Durgin-Park down by Faneuil Hall, you'll be missing an essential Boston experience. :-)

(My mom's New England family has been going there for generations.)

@kdfrawg I just decided I was tired of watches with batteries and circuits, and wanted something with gears and wheels and springs. :-)

Presumably, if the watch gets wet, I'll be attached to it. :-)

I'll never get down that far, but it's nice to know if I'm out sailing with my brother and it gets dunked, I don't have to worry about it.
