@literary Something that just occurred to me: you're in Madison, right? There's a Sikh gurdwara there. It's just once a week, but they serve a meal ("Langar") on Sundays at 1 PM. It isn't charity--it's an essential part of the Sikh religion for everyone to eat together, communally, sitting on the floor, to symbolize the equality of all people. It's part of their worship practices. Sikhs are good people. You would be welcomed.
