I'm not sure if it's gin o'clock or beer-thirty, but I'm quite ready to be out of the office. Alas, here I am.

Relax. That is not part of the Chicago-style footnotes I learned as a history major. ;-)

Naturally.

It's worth mentioning here that both Dameon and I have specific dietary needs due to diabetes. For us, a low-carb diet is the best way to ensure that our blood glucose levels remain at a level that will either initiate remission of the disease, or at a minimum, maintain good control of it. Meat (beef or fish or chicken or lamb or what-have-you) is not the only part of that, but it's a significant one. A vegan or vegetarian diet is extremely difficult, if not impossible, for diabetics to maintain while also remaining healthy, ideological and philosophical preferences aside.

I'd still rather have a ribeye steak.

It's absolutely criminal that his family should have to give a moment's thought to how they will pay for his care. I'm glad there's a foundation willing to give support, but this sort of thing should be covered by any civilized society.

Well, you'll have another chance at 111,111. ;-)

My personal experience is that eating meat is essential, but that eating low-carb vegetables is also essential to keep my, uh, exhaust system functioning properly. I'm not a fan of the alternative remedies for that. ;-)

I'm going to suggest that in the dark theme, visited links should be something like orange or rust instead of purple, for visibility.
