@kdfrawg That's a damn nice photo.

@indigo We also had midterm exams once or twice per quarter, at the professors' discretion. Sometimes they happened as early as the third week of the quarter.

@indigo At UCSB, we had fall quarter from late September through mid-December, winter quarter from January through mid-March, and spring quarter from April through mid-June. Exams happened the last few days of each quarter, and we had a week or two off between quarters.

@indigo American schools on the semester system operate with a fall semester and a spring semester. Summer session is abbreviated when there is one. I have no experience with the UK system so can't comment on it.
// @skematica @jextxadore
@jextxadore Imagine packing the material from an 18-week semester into a 10-week quarter. Most UC schools operate on that schedule (except for Berkeley).
// @skematica
@jextxadore If they're on the quarter system, there's no slack built into the schedule.
// @skematica
@indigo Exactly. As I said over on Slack, ADN was a textbook example of what happens when you let your vision get in the way of letting your customers give you money.

@kdfrawg Sometimes, the old tree needs to die so its seedlings can flourish, I guess. ?
