Case for the new phone has arrived, which is a relief. Yes, the device is an attractive shiny hunk of black glass, but the downside is that it's a slick, attractive, very droppable shiny hunk of black glass.

New phone is here. Pixel 3 XL is remarkably like Pixel 2 XL, with bigger screen, gesture-based navigation, and The Notch. I find the latter silly and annoying, but I'll live with it.

I'll say this--it was the simplest setup and restore I've ever done, partially because I'm a Google Fi user and it uses eSIM. Kudos to Google for that.
