It sounds like she's doing fine.

Shouldn't there be a maple leaf somewhere in the logo? Isn't that a law or something?

Unlikely, for reasons best not gone into here. :-)

I'm 52 years old with a BMI I'd rather not think about. That just wouldn't be good for anybody.

Looks at new dress code

Hmmm…

Orders new Birkenstock Arizonas to replace pair that's 20 years old and falling apart

They literally said shorts and flip-flops were OK, so I'm not sure how far I can test this without violating the law.

Interesting email from HR this morning. Effective immediately, the dress code has been abolished, or more precisely, is left up to the individual--"we expect you to demonstrate good judgment and and to be respectful of those around you."

All I can say is this: I'm fairly certain they don't hold a candle to BMW drivers from Santa Barbara.

This usually happens when there's a disconnect between posted speed limits and the design of the road. Traffic engineers will tell you that the 85th percentile speed is what the road should be posted at (i.e., the speed at or below which 85% of traffic is traveling in the absence of posted limits or enforcement). Artrficially low speed limits encourage people to ignore them, with predictable results--as was manifestly the case back in the days of the nationwide 55 mph limit.

Then again, some people just drive like idiots.

That's easy--because it's a speed trap. Or they want people to notice it.
