So this is what 10C is like in the middle of the North American night…

Me too.

Looks like I'll be staying up all night with my mother-in-law so my wife can get some sleep, of which she hasn't had any for two days.

Things are progressing--we're just trying to keep Mom comfortable at this point. The waiting game continues…

An update…

My mother-in-law has stabilized somewhat, but isn't out of the woods. When I got here yesterday, she was breathing very hard and starting to turn bluish-purple from lack of oxygen in her blood (and this was while she was also on oxygen!). The hospice nurse thought it was probably a matter of hours or a day or two at most. However, after a few hours her color started to improve, and she stabilized during the night. Nobody knows why.

I went home and got a couple of hours' sleep, but my wife was here all night. My brother-in-law is also here from Orange County, so if anything happens both of her kids are here.

And so we continue the watch…

Danke schön!

Thanks. ??

We're both here. Her brother will be here in a few hours (he's a hundred or so miles south of here, on the wrong side of Los Angeles County.

Looks like my mother-in-law, Wilma, who turned 99 last month, may pass tonight or tomorrow. Things happened quickly this afternoon. Prayers and good thoughts are most appreciated.

I love me some open-source for certain things--hell, I'm one of the few people that really likes LibreOffice. ;-) But so often, open-source just becomes one more religious war, and ain't nobody got time for that.

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking.
