My mother's family tends to cremate, whereas my dad's family usually does the traditional thing. Can't say I'm bothered either way. My mom has specified that she is to be cremated after any useful organs have been harvested, and that makes a lot of sense to me.

If you can, it would be smart. I imagine that it's even more expensive in Japan, since everything is more expensive in Japan.

Yep. She was born in the horse and buggy era, and lived to see manned lunar expeditions.

Just realized today would have been my grandmother's 121st birthday (born in 1897).

I hope she did. I'm hoping to get a few hours myself after she gets back here.
